                                                           Book Launch

On Friday, the 24th of July 2009, Samaritans Chaplain Kim Miller, will launch his second book,

“They Told Me I Had To Write This,” at Life Church’s Soul Café 15 Denison St Newcastle, 5.30pm.

The novel, aimed at teenagers and those who care for them, offers an insightful look into the life of a troubled teen.

“They Told Me I Had To Write This” will be available for purchase at the launch and after that, at any book store.
All proceeds from book sales at the launch will go to Soul Café, which serves over 700 meals per week to the homeless and
    disadvantaged people of Newcastle, free-of-charge.

Having lived in a boy’s home as a teenager and worked as a prison chaplain for many years, Kim has experienced first hand
the struggles that teenagers can face. He takes readers on a “powerful journey” (Terry O’Connell) that provides insight into the
life of a troubled teen dealing with issues such as child abuse, grief, drugs and young love in a “realistic but hopeful”
    (Hazel Edwards) manner.

Reviews of “They Told Me I Had To Write This” confirm that “this is far more than a story” (Jenny Mounfield) and that it is
    a “must read” (Terry O’Connell).

Those that attend the launch will hear from Julia Woods, Newcastle Community Youth Development Project Officer, will be
entertained by a local rapper and enjoy cheese, biscuits and wine.
