This winter, Rhema FM is proud to partner with Bible League as they launch a powerful new mission: Badayala for Bibles — a national campaign to deliver 7,000 Plain English Version (PEV) Bibles to Indigenous Australians by 30 September 2025.
The word “Badayala” (pronounced buddy-you-la) means “light”, and that’s exactly what this campaign is about: bringing the light of God’s Word into communities that have long gone without it.
For just $20, you can place a Bible into the hands of someone who may have never owned one before, in a version they can clearly understand.
These Bibles will be printed and distributed directly into Indigenous communities.
📘 What Is the Plain English Version (PEV) Bible?
The Plain English Version (PEV) was specially created to help Indigenous Australians engage deeply with Scripture in everyday, understandable language.
Developed through a unique partnership between Bible League, Wycliffe Bible Translators, and AuSIL (Australian Society for Indigenous Languages), the PEV Bible is designed for those whose first language is not traditional English. It uses simplified grammar, everyday vocabulary, and clear illustrations to make God’s Word more accessible.
